Gina Johnsen is a community leader and business professional who was born and raised in the Lansing area and for many years has called Eaton County home. A graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and Wellesley College near Boston, Gina is a Lansing-area business woman who has dedicated her life to helping serve local churches, charities and civic organizations while raising her daughter as a single Mother. Gina has served as a Commissioner on the Eaton County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Gina is also the Director of the Michigan Capitol House of Prayer, where she has devoted her leadership to serving both sides of the political aisle, and is a founder and keyboardist of the band, Parted Waters. Gina is pro-life, pro-family, and a common sense constitutional conservative.

This is one of Gina’s core beliefs and the source of her passion for community volunteer efforts. She encourages all to work together to make Eaton County an even better place to live and raise families.

Gina’s slogan is to promote legislation that puts families first, enabling parents to best care for their children and senior parents, without having to fight anti-family government policies. Gina believes in supporting policies which promote job growth, make the community safer, and provide the best educational opportunities possible.

Gina has been the Executive Director since 2010, bringing faith-based groups together to pray for MI government leaders, across all Party lines.

Gina is an ardent fundraiser and promoter for this Charlotte ministry to our youth.

Gina is a promoter and fundraiser for this important statewide jail ministry.

Gina is an active partner with this ministry created to assist women recovering from the trauma of sex-trafficking.

Gina supports curriculum and policies to improve math and reading skills. She encourages healthy partnerships between parents, teachers, and administrators. She supports both college prep and skilled trades education, establishing job opportunities for everyone.

As a business woman herself, Gina advocates for building partnerships between government and business to spur increased economic development. She is a vigorous fighter against burdensome taxes and regulations which negatively affect businesses and jobs.

Gina will do whatever it takes to advocate for policies to assist farmers, as they provide the most essential elements for our lives.

Gina believes Veterans have given or risked their very lives for us, and it’s our turn to respect and support them in our local communities. She hosts THANK YOU events and musical tributes, as well as promoting programs that focus on suicide prevention and stronger healthcare choices.

Gina is a vocal and active NRA member, concealed weapons permit holder, and hunter.

Gina is an Advisory Board Member of this MI student group providing fact-based education to women in high schools and colleges who are making life-changing childbirth decisions.

Gina is a donor, fundraiser and promoter of this home for young pregnant moms.
